What If I Am Learning And Growing, Too?

What If I Am Learning And Growing, Too?

There’s something I’ve been thinking about lately as I continue this journey as an MKE Guide.

What if being a guide isn’t about having all the answers?

Because I certainly don’t.

I’m learning.

I’m growing.

I’m discovering things about myself right alongside the people I have the privilege of guiding.

A New Role – Do I Need To Know Everything?

When I first stepped into this role, I think a little part of me felt like I needed to have everything figured out. After all, how can I guide someone else if I’m still working through things myself?

But I’m beginning to understand that maybe that’s exactly the point.

The Master Key Experience has taught me that change begins from the inside out. It starts with becoming aware of our thoughts, our habits, our choices, and the stories we have been telling ourselves.

And sometimes, while I’m encouraging someone else to look at their thinking, I realize I need to look at mine, too.

Learning and Growing
Still Learning and Growing

Sometimes I’m reminding someone to trust the process while God is reminding me to trust mine.

Sometimes I’m celebrating someone else for taking a small step forward while realizing that I need to celebrate my own small steps, too.

And maybe that’s one of the most beautiful things about being a guide.

We don’t have to be perfect to walk alongside someone.

We simply have to be willing to listen.

To ask questions.

To encourage.

To celebrate the victories.

To remind each other that one thought, one choice, and one day at a time can create an entirely different life.

I’m learning that growth doesn’t always look like huge breakthroughs. Sometimes growth looks like catching an old thought before believing it. Sometimes it looks like choosing differently than we did yesterday. Sometimes it’s simply refusing to give up when we don’t see the results yet.

And sometimes it looks like starting again.

That’s where I am right now.

Still learning.

Still growing.

Still becoming.

And I’m okay with that.

Because I no longer believe I have to arrive before I can help someone else move forward.

Learning And Growing Together

Maybe being a guide means we walk together.

Maybe sometimes I’m holding the flashlight for someone else, and sometimes they unknowingly shine a little light on something I needed to see.

Either way, we keep moving.

One thought.

One choice.

One day at a time.

And I’m incredibly grateful that I get to be part of the journey.
