FALL IS PROOF THAT CHANGE CAN BE BEAUTIFUL
There is something about fall that always makes me slow down and notice.
The air becomes crisp. The days get a little shorter. The trees that were completely green just weeks ago begin turning brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold.
And then, eventually, the leaves fall.
Nature doesn’t fight the change.
It simply moves into the next season.
As I walk through my own Master Key Experience, I am beginning to realize how much we can learn from autumn.
SOME THINGS HAVE TO FALL AWAY
A tree doesn’t hold onto every leaf because it is afraid there won’t be another one.
It lets go.
That really speaks to me.
How many old thoughts, habits, beliefs, and stories have we carried simply because they are familiar?
Sometimes we hold onto something not because it is good for us, but because we’ve carried it for so long that it feels like part of us.
The Master Key Experience is teaching me to become more aware of those old patterns.
To notice them.
To question them.
And, little by little, to replace them with thoughts and behaviors that support the person I am becoming.
Maybe fall isn’t only a season of losing.
Maybe it is a season of “making room.”
THE HARVEST COMES BEFORE THE REST
Fall is also harvest season.
And when I think about harvest, I think about sitting in the tractor with my brother while we combined the corn fields.
There is something about being in that tractor in the fall that stays with you.
The fields stretch out in front of you, row after row of corn ready for harvest. The combine moves steadily through the field while the sound of the machinery fills the cab. Outside, there is that unmistakable feeling of autumn in the air.
Sitting there with my brother, watching the corn come in, I wasn’t necessarily thinking about life lessons.
We were harvesting corn.

But looking back now, I see something more.
That harvest didn’t begin on the day we climbed into the tractor.
It began months earlier.
The ground had to be prepared.
Seeds had to be planted.
There had to be rain and sunshine.
There were days of waiting when you couldn’t see much happening at all.
And yet, underneath the soil and inside those plants, growth was taking place.
By fall, what had been planted months before was finally ready to be gathered.
Isn’t that true for us too?
Sometimes we are doing the work and wondering whether anything is changing.
We read.
We practice.
We keep our commitments.
We repeat the exercises.
We watch our thoughts.
We choose again.
And there may be days when it doesn’t feel like much is happening.
But something IS happening.
Seeds are being planted.
Roots are growing where nobody else can see them.
And eventually, what has been growing on the inside begins showing up on the outside.
Maybe that’s why that memory of sitting in the tractor with my brother means even more to me today.
You can’t harvest what you never planted.
And you can’t rush a harvest whose season hasn’t arrived yet.
Sometimes our job is simply to keep tending the field.
WHAT ARE YOU READY TO RELEASE?
As I watch the leaves falling this year, I am asking myself a different question:
What am I willing to let fall away?
An old belief?
A habit that no longer serves me?
A fear I’ve carried too long?
The need to know exactly how everything will work out?
Maybe we don’t need to have every answer before taking the next step.
Maybe we simply need to trust the work we are doing and continue moving forward.
There is a season for planting.
There is a season for growing.
There is a season for harvesting.
And there is a season for letting go.
BECOMING
This fall feels especially meaningful to me because I am experiencing the Master Key Experience from a new perspective as a first-time Guide.
I’m learning that guiding isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about asking questions.
It’s about encouraging another person to discover what is already within them.
And sometimes, while helping someone else discover something about themselves, we discover something about ourselves too.
That’s one of the beautiful things about this journey.
We are all becoming.
So as the leaves change around us, maybe we can allow ourselves permission to change too.
Release what needs to go.
Protect the seeds you’ve planted.
Celebrate the growth you can already see.
Trust the growth you cannot see yet.
And keep going.
Because just like those trees outside my window, we aren’t finished.
We’re simply entering another season.
What are you ready to let fall away so you can make room for what comes next?
With love and encouragement,
Kim Jordan

This is beautiful, Kim. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. We do need to remember that harvest can’t be successful if we don’t plant the seeds and care for the crops. Yay!
