September – Tragedies, Triumphs and Trivialities
So Septembers have a lot of pain, change and anticipation for me
September
As I stated in my last blog, I am not a fan of Summer coming to a close as I really love the long days, swimming with my daughter, golfing often, and enjoying all the colorful flowers.
Even though this time of year brings a transfer to wetness and shorter days it is also the time of harvesting and reaping the benefits of what was sowed several months ago. That can be very rewarding but also a reminder of what could have been.
I am the king of “coulda, woulda, shoulda” and every year around this time I wish I had spent more efforts in the garden or the yard and been more organized.
All I can do is remember how good I feel about the good harvests and feel bad about what I didn’t do. Isn’t that the NARC thing we learned about?
Tragedies
Of course all of us over the age of 35 has a very strong memory of 9/11/01. We all, as with any very tragic (or spectacular) experience can remember exactly where we were and what we were doing at that exact moment.
I was waking up on my couch in a studio apartment that I had fallen asleep on the night before and I thought it was a movie. It was an event that forever changed how I felt about the media, government, humanity and my understanding of how the world really works.
I also felt a tragic loss one year ago on September 10th, 2025. Someone whom I admired for his passion for his faith was killed for it.
September 29th was my little sister and only sibling’s birthday. She died 2 years ago this October at 39yrs old from overdosing on meth. A struggle she had for years that was the ending of a wasted life that once had great potential, that we all are born with, very heartbreaking.

Triumphs
One positive September memory, however, was 2015 when I was first introduced to the Master Key Experience (MKE). Since that first year I have been looking forward to the class starting again as I became a lifetime member after experiencing this program.
It was and has been one of the most positive influences in my life. The reminders of how I gathered so much knowledge and understanding as to how I could control the direction of my life.
Not all, but many things in my first Definite Major Purpose (DMP) came to pass and when I reflect on that fact it inspires me each September to get back on track and do it again.
It is silly that with all of my gains that I haven’t kept up continuously since then but as you know, or will know, is that decades of concrete don’t come off easily. Regardless, I am extremely excited for this upcoming session to work on myself while I help others being a guide.
Even more exciting to me is to really manifest my Personal Pivotal Needs (PPN’s) to show those around me at this time in my life that there is a way to be, do, or have anything you want in life.
This particular September is even better. Not only because I am a guide now. It was also my first year doing the vision workshop. Although it had 90% of all the things I know from MKE it provided a couple of drills I was unfamiliar with. The card trick to really find what people wanted was interesting to perform and watch others do it as well.
I am still playing with tender gardener, thoughtful communicator, or insightful listener.
Trivialities
Lastly I will say that September brings football back. Not that I am any sort of fanatic, but I really enjoy competing through fantasy football with friends.
I no longer care about sports in general, but this time of year creates a little of excitement around it.
Until next time….

Great job, Kris! I look forward to reading about your continued growth as a guide!
