Do You Want To Be Right or Be Yourself?

minutes remaining

Here’s a great, and ancient story to help you see how to be yourself and see better results. Once upon a time there was a rich and successful shoemaker who decided to send his two best salesmen exploring new markets. Africa was the only continent where the shoemaker was not yet selling shoes. He said to his salesmen, “Go there and find new territories, don’t stay in the cities, explore the countryside and then tell me what you find.”

Both salesmen flew to their destination and started diligently exploring new territories as their boss instructed them. After a few days, the first salesman called his boss and told him with a sad tone in his voice, “Boss, I have bad news, there is no market for us here, no one has shoes and everybody is walking barefoot!”

A few hours later, the boss got a call from his second salesman, who was totally excited and enthusiastically screaming in the phone “Boss, boss, it’s amazing, there is a huge market here, no one has shoes and everybody is walking barefoot!”

Opinions don’t matter

All human beings have been built according to the same model: we are made first class by a first class Manufacturer to be yourself! We must eat, drink, sleep, make children, etc., everybody agrees on this, however for the rest, it is the Tower of Babel!

Everybody says, “in my opinion, it must be like this, according to me, it must be like that…”

While it is true that each person from their own viewpoint is right, everyone asserting their rights as truth creates a general free-for-all, and the world goes from fight to fight because each party wants to be right.

Is there a way out?

Of course there must be a way out, otherwise what would be the purpose of humanity, except to find the most efficient way to impose one’s own rights on the rest of the living universe? How can you get out of the fight and just be yourself?

be yourself

The Allegory of the Cave

We have known one way out since at least the time of Plato, the great philosopher.

If you never heard Plato’s famous “Allegory of the Cave”, please listen!

The reason why so many humans still remain prisoners is that it takes courage, practice and persistence to become an experienced self-directed thinker. Actually, the drill never ends, because of the mountain of self-limiting beliefs each of us has accumulated over the years, so you won’t be yourself.

But it doesn’t matter for those who accept the challenge!

These everyday heroes know who they are and how to manifest their true nature while respecting the differences they notice in others. They learned to claim simply and quietly the right to be themselves, while respecting the right of others to do the same.

The World Needs You to Be Yourself

Although the Master Key Experience (MKE) training is the ideal place to learn and develop this kind of life skills, let me confess an important fact: it is not because I wrote what you just read that I am today an invincible light warrior who peacefully wins all his battles – including the toughest ones, those against the dark side of my ego
programmed with these famous and challenging limiting beliefs.

Willing to be perfect is not the point because you and me, and every human being on this planet, are already perfect inside.

The point is to be ready and willing to learn how to make our perfection shine every minute of our life, for oneself and for humanity as a whole.

That’s a big goal, but isn’t it worth it?

Should we succeed only for ourselves in that ambitious endeavor, that would still be one less person in charge for the rest of us! That being said, everybody knows we cannot change our life in one minute, but we can surely change its direction in less than 2 seconds and we can choose to do it every minute of our life!

Don’t lose your energy trying to be right, my friend, instead try hard to be yourself because the world desperately needs you as you are!

Be well,
Luc

  • Such wisdom, Luc! I think you nailed the exact reasons why so many things are not going well for people these days. Thank you so much for sharing these ancient and marvelous stories. All reminders that these principles have been around for years. We just need something like the fantastic Master Key Experience to help us implement them and keep them alive — reminders on how to be a better person and part of a better human race.

  • What a powerful stories and wisdom you’ve shared here, Luc. Yes, it’s so true that this journey of “Being My True Self” is not a easy task but so worth it to give all of me. Thank you for the great reminder!

  • love this reminder Luc – “try hard to be yourself because the world desperately needs you as you are!”..
every second, every minute, every hour of every day..
and thank you also for the reminder about the “Allegory of the Cave”.
    I just googled it –
the cave represents the world, the region of life which is revealed to us only through the sense of sight. The ascent out of the cave is the journey of the soul into the region of the intelligible.
The path to enlightenment is painful and arduous, says Plato, and requires that we make four stages in our development.
Imprisonment in the cave (the imaginary world)
Release from chains (the real, sensual world)
Ascent out of the cave (the world of ideas)
The way back to help our fellows.
I see a lot of similarities in this to climbing mountains & the story that you share about your experiences 🙂

  • Thank you Luc, for sharing such important message and reminder! Being “yourself” is to be “one with everything and everyone else” is my strong belief.

  • Luc, your blog was very inspiring full of many precious gems. I enjoyed your salesmen story and how they both observed their new markets. I also agree with your statement: ” While it is true that each person from their own viewpoint is right, everyone asserting their rights as truth creates a general free-for-all, and the world goes from fight to fight because each party wants to be right.” The last point that impelled me was about learning to be ready and willing to learn how to make our perfection shine every minute of our life, for oneself and for humanity as a whole. Thanks for those great reminders. How does being right have an affect over making our perfection shine and being our true self which the world desperately needs us to be?

  • I love those moments where a shift in thought creates a whole new world of possibility. Thank you for explaining it so beautifully.

  • Amazing insights on this blog! Thank you so much for sharing this blog to all of us. I truly appreciate your reading it to all of us do that we hear your passion and conviction.
