Do you feel content with your life?
Another word for content is satisfied. So, in other words, “Are you satisfied with your life?”
How would you answer to this question?
I have pondered upon this recently looking at my life. It is so easy to slip into “the state of unsatisfied/uncontended” when we start looking at our circumstances, other people or even ourselves with the eyes of lack and criticism.
Why is that?
It’s because when we start looking at the circumstances and others around us we start spiraling down in the path of either complain, compare, or blame for whatever the circumstances that are not to our expectations or liking. In this state of mind, we are not able to be satisfied or to be content.
Then what is the antidote?
Learn to be content!
I was meditating on the following verses from the Bible.
11b) I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12) I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13) I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:11b to 13
Here, Apostle Paul, talked about “learning to be content whatever the circumstances”. The word “learning” caught my attention, so I was meditating on it further. It is so true that we need to learn to be content with our life. It doesn’t automatically happen because we are bombarded with situations, people, and circumstances around us pulling us down to complain, compare and blame for our lack of whatever was presented before our eyes or in our minds. We need to consciously guard our minds and thoughts from these things that make us want to or believe that we must have them to be satisfied.
- What am I focusing on in my mind or thoughts?
- Am I looking at my life what I have already or what I don’t have?
There is no end to looking at things that I don’t have. Even if I feel that I don’t have enough, there is always something I can find that I have in my life that I can be grateful for. The basic human needs are air, water, food, and shelter. If I have these basic things in my life, then I can be content.
Can I be content whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want like what Paul is saying in above verses? See, he said “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Yes, he is referring to Jesus Christ who he believed as his personal God.
What is your source of strength?
I am not saying that you have believe in his God, but it is this truth of believing that you have what you need within your reach.
The world without is a reflection of the world within. What appears without is what has been found within. In the world within may be found infinite Wisdom, infinite Power, infinite Supply of all that is necessary, waiting for unfoldment, development and expression. If we recognize these potentialities in the world within, they will take form in the world without. Harmony in the world within will be reflected in the world without by harmonious conditions, agreeable surroundings, the best of everything. It is the foundation of health and a necessary essential to all greatness, all power, all attainment, all achievement and all success. Harmony in the world within means the ability to control our thoughts, and to determine for ourselves how any experience is to affect us.

Especially the sentence at the end: “Harmony in the world within means the ability to control our thoughts, and to determine for ourselves how any experience is to affect us.”
Yes, it is possible to control our thoughts and minds to draw this harmony from within. We do have this power within us to focus our thoughts and minds on the things that we have already instead of things we don’t have. Or should I say that we will have as we focus on things that we want/desire?
That is the power of your mind and thoughts that it talks about here in Master Key Experience (MKE) lesson. You see, you can focus on your mind and thought on things that you feel you are lacking then you are focusing on the lack but if you focus your thoughts and minds on what you want/desire, you are attracting them to you and strange enough you will get what you want/desire.

Let’s dig deeper on this principle. It’s your faith that it is in place. As Paul also shared that he believed that he can do anything through his God who gives him strength, it is this power of faith that we can manifest what we want and desire instead of focusing on what I lack or don’t have.
So back to my original question, “Are you satisfied with your life? Or do you feel content with your life?”
What would you say? Can you say that you are satisfied with your life? Yes, it is possible if you can apply this MKE principle of focusing the world within where your power resides and where all the resources that you need are available.
