Seek The Silence

‘Seek the Silence frequently, Power comes from Repose’

Charles Haanel, The Master Key System

One of the most important mandatory exercises the members of the Master Key Experience go through is the daily ‘sit’.

For most of us, I know it was true for me, just sitting still with eyes closed, and without distractions, is uncomfortable to start with…

I still vividly remember the first time I deliberately engaged in the exercise in the fall of 2012, after not meditating since my teenage years.

Going into the exercise, I already knew that I wouldn’t make the full 15 minutes recommended, so I settled for 5. Anyone can do almost anything for just 5 minutes, right?!

Yeah, right…

After an ‘eternity’, I came to the conclusion that the timer on my phone must have malfunctioned, and I was way passed the five minutes already. I opened my eyes, looked at the phone, and proved myself wrong…

The timer was at 1:33 counting down, meaning that I ‘made it’ a full 3 minutes and 27 seconds.

Well, needless to say, it got easier from there, and soon I did the full 15 minutes, and it was bearable, further down the line even enjoyable.

And soon I could embrace the following words of the author:

“Realize that the Silence offers an ever available and almost unlimited opportunity for awakening the highest conception of Truth. Try to comprehend that Omnipotence itself is absolute silence; all else is change, activity, limitation. Silent thought concentration is therefore the true method of reaching, awakening and then expressing the wonderful potential power of the world within.”
