Self Discovery

I now enter the fourth quarter of my centennial existence on this beautiful planet, Gaia. The night before my birthday, I had to rush out to assist my 92-year-young yoga teacher.

As I left my house, I felt as if I had entered another dimension, and there was this path in front of me with steps leading to, I did not know where.

Answering the Call

All I knew was that she was my teacher, my mentor, my mother, my grandmother, and my friend, and she needed me now!

That evening’s experience left me reflecting on my 75 years on this journey. According to Google, it was also supposed to be the night the ‘Sturgeon Moon’ would be visible. I found it interesting that my Totem Animal is the Sturgeon fish!

That left me meditating that night before I finally fell asleep on many things. I had been so busy that I never saw the Sturgeon moon; it was probably the clouds that hid it! Or the veil over my eyes!

The Journey of Self Discovery

I recognized that life is a continual journey of self discovery. Rather than seeking material wealth, this journey reveals intangible rewards—the unique value inherent within everyone.

Our experiences, surroundings, the people we interact with on our journey, and what we feel, taste, hear, and touch shape who we are. We have complete control to grow in meaningful ways, but many of us, including me, do not know how to do that so that we live our best life ever!

We don’t even know how to express what our best life ever is!

The Gift

That evening, of all things, my teacher gave me a beautiful Treasure Chest where she had stored many of her memories. About 9 years ago, she gifted me a smaller Treasure Chest that she kept by the entryway to her house out at her ranch.

She named this “Spirit of the Deer”. In that chest, she kept the tools of her trade.

She is a minister of an interfaith order, “The Alliance of Divine Love”. From her, I had learned the poem “The Ancient Verities” in the Master Key Experience (MKE) book Standing Tall. When I saw that poem in the book, I knew this was where I was meant to be.

Master Key Experience and Self Discovery

When I joined MKE, we were told we were on a Treasure Hunt. Well, I had my chest! Was this what I was supposed to use it for? Yes, it came in very handy! I keep my 3×5 cards in there! These cards are very valuable!

If you are part of MKE, you know why. If not, you may want to find out! Now I have two Treasure Chests! A small one and a larger one. I can’t wait to fill them both up with all my treasures that I have and those I have yet to discover!

My 92-year-young teacher is very much like my grandmother, strong, resilient, with ideas, views, and beliefs that are different from most.

She is also like my mother; both were wives who tolerated much abuse. My teacher found the strength to cut loose, but my mother waited until Father Time freed her.

I have been blessed to have her in my life, especially after the loss of my grandmother and mother! All three taught me lessons and introduced me to thoughts, ideas, and viewpoints that opened my mind to MKE!

The Journey Continues

After two years with MKE and now starting my third, I continue to find new insights and reflect more deeply on my life, what I want to allow and what I don’t.

MKE takes me to a deeper understanding of myself and others. I am grateful for the people who make up the MKE family at this time in my life.
