Strike the Power Pose!!
Have you ever thought about what you do or don’t do that sabotages yourself?
For example, our non verbal body language can sabotage us before we even take further action or speak.
Or from an action point of view, we may impulsively buy a burger, when we are trying to cut back on junk food!
Let’s consider all the self-sabotage that may occur.
Do you feel fear when taking on a new project or start anything new? Fear is a powerful emotion that paralyses the nerve centres and affects the circulation of the blood, which in turn affects the entire being: body, brain, nerves, physical, mental, and muscular systems. Eeeek!
Immediately, that initial sabotage hits us. How do we progress with our chosen step forward? We are sometimes caught in this loop and our feelings of unworthiness escalate and our vision of success may seem so distant.
This loop becomes a negative habit, without us realising, unless we have great self-observation and can see ourselves quickly enough to prevent further occurrence of this.
The Law of Substitution is a great way to introduce a positive thought with enthusiasm as soon as we experience that fear or negative thought.
Strike a pose
Another way to do it is to strike a pose. Science has endorsed an aged practice of celebrating a win by our upheld arms, our head thrown back in jubilation. That celebration is so natural to us. The fist pump, the jumping up and down, it all counts as a way to change our hormones or honour them.
We’ve all done it, without even realising exactly what we are doing. Remember that school sports day race or the exam pass?
Some of us are natural ‘power houses’. we stand with our hands on our hips, legs slightly apart, surveying the environment.
We may look and even feel like Superwoman or Superman.
Our bodies change our mind, our mind changes our behaviour, and our behaviour changes our outcomes!
Try it now.
Stand up and put your arms in the air and look up. Do this for 2 minutes.
Stand in the office with your hands on your hips. Notice how it feels and what your colleagues do in response.
Do you feel the change in your demeanour and personal power? There are other poses too.
How about when you sit in your chair? Put your hands behind your head, fingers interlaced and lean back. How does it feel?
Practicing this can change everything for you. Science says so!!

If you practice the poses, notice how life changes and self-sabotage becomes less until it is non existent.

This is why we do our DMP (Definite Major Purpose), writing our goals with enthusiasm and emotion attached to each goal. It changes the dynamic when we read it, just as “striking the pose’”changes our physical.

Another part of our sabotage… there is also our own unwillingness to be a part of change despite our knowing on a conscious level the real benefits.
We know that change is the evolution of the universe, and the process of continual creation. We see the seasons come and go, we see nature, the weather, animals go through a constant metamorphosis.
However, humans, are a completely different animal!!
We require a certain amount of time and effort, work put in as practice to change old habits or sabotage. Our comfort zone is literally that… too comfortable. This is our sabotage of growth, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
This is where our dreams may falter. We become despondent.
Let’s change all that! Let’s create growth and the excitement for change.

Our thoughts can be powerful, constructive, positive, full of clarity. Our health improves, our environment starts to radiate and reflect our new expression and our business flourishes. If we are a stay-at-home parent, our children feel the change and reflect that as well. Life is Grand!
Our thoughts are focused and we create the Law of Attraction, abundance, happiness. This is the vital life-force energy of the universe. We become One with it. It is our constant resource and we are its content reflection.

We sabotage ourselves without realising it. It is up to us to learn to be in self-observation, awaken to our habits and change them. There are many exercises in MKE to help us so that we can overcome any impedance and achieve success.
