I’m sure you’re familiar with the term ‘Intuition’, and how everyone says it’s so important to follow our Intuition.
Here we are discussing what Intuition actually could be and how to understand it better.
To start I’d like to point out that, in my experience, there are several different types of Intuition, and that we probably don’t always mean the same thing when mentioning the term.
- There is what I like to call the ‘No-Intuition’. This is the very loud and clear internal warning and/or alarm shout-out that occurs when we register imminent danger
- We have what I call the ‘Yes-Intuition’. This is that positive ‘gut-feeling’ when we meet with persons or situation and just ‘know’ we want to explore the encounter further
- And finally there’s ‘That Still Small Voice’. This is the one that we so frequently choose to ignore when it nudges us from the silence of our core being.
Please be advised that there might be additional forms of Intuition and I in no way make the assumption that the list above is complete, or imply that it makes up the only correct definitions. Just think about it and make up Your mind around Your own understanding, ok?!
The Important Form of Intuition
I want to focus on the third point here, ‘That Small Still Voice’ type of intuition, as it’s vitally important for living in alignment with our respective purpose and values.
Modern society doesn’t stimulate reflection, contemplation or meditation, we’re persuaded by media, advertisements and even culture to chase instant gratification, leading many people suffering from feeling insufficient, alienated, out of alignment, or even outright depressed.
Listening within might not be the ‘end-all-be-all’ solution, yet in my experience and opinion, it’s a great start, and just the mere act of taking time off for Yourself can be very healing.
The practice itself is very simple, yet building any habit takes commitment, discipline and constant reminders, and so we recommend allocating the same time every day, start small and build up to longer sessions. I can promise You, that over time, You will start to love the time in silence, and definitely appreciate the increased clarity and alignment with Your core!
