“Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice…” – Anton Chekhov
In this blog we are going to contemplate the ingredients of knowledge: (1) the potential power that you receive, (2) specialized knowledge along with imagination, (3) how to organize and use knowledge, (4) the blending of the ingredients together by practice & repetition, and (5) the assistance of a Master Mind group.
All these ingredients are essential to produce the knowledge needed for success and the fulfillment of your dreams. Most ingredients are disclosed in a recipe, but these are found in chapter 5 of “Think and Grow Rich”, a very inspiring recipe book.
The 1st ingredient of knowledge is the potential power.
Many people are confused by being led falsely to believe that “knowledge is power”. It is nothing of the kind. Knowledge is only potential power. Potential power exists in possibility. It is capable of development into actuality, potential benefits. It is potential energy & knowledge that is stored in our brain. It becomes power only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action, and directed to a definite end. Your life or situation won’t change until you manifest that knowledge into real & decisive action.
The 2nd ingredient is specialized knowledge along with Imagination.
Specialized knowledge is an advanced level of knowledge or expertise in the organization processes. It includes a range of factual, theoretical, and practical knowledge, as well as competencies and skills in a particular discipline, or profession.
Now that you have a definition of specialized knowledge in mind, next it is important to decide the kind of specialized knowledge you compel and the intention for which it is needed. Your specialized knowledge can be determined once your goals are formulated toward your Definite Major Purpose, which is your road map to your success.
Your next move requires that you have accurate information concerning dependable sources of knowledge such as: special training courses, and the resources offered at a public library. To constantly enrich your specialized knowledge with current break throughs, reading is essential to expand your awareness in a world of constant changing technology and sophistication.
Imagination connects with specialized knowledge by being the workshop where all plans are designed. It has been said, “Man can create anything which he can imagine”. Through imagination we acquire the impulse, the desire, a given shape, form, and actions that is needed in the architectural master piece of the mind.
Both are needed in order, for the blueprint to be complete.
The 3rd ingredient is the “How to” organize & use knowledge.
Knowledge does not attract money, unless it is organized and intelligently directed through practical plans of action to the definite end, which is the accumulation of money. As knowledge is acquired it must be organized and put into use. Knowledge has no value except that which can be gained from its application toward some worthy cause. An example is a college degree and why one isn’t more valuable. It represents nothing but miscellaneous knowledge, but the recipient lacks the vocational guidance needed to get them working once they have their degree or diploma.
The 4th ingredient is the importance of practicing skills.
You can’t master a skill by just reading about it. You must practice the skill every day for it to become a habit, and for you to be able to see an improvement. As the “Seven Laws of the Mind” reminds us of the 5 P’s, which are Perfect Practice Prevents Poor Performance. Committing to practice everyday make it a priority and tells your subconscious the importance of doing it and accomplishing the goal that one begins.
If you default a day of practice think of what an incredible missed opportunity it was. Being aware of the ups & downs and how you feel about practicing the skill can help a great deal in other relationships. It helps you know how to best manage your life as far as what we eat, the events of the day, or exercising etc. Being persistent in your practice & repetition helps you learn the skill better.
The 5th ingredient is the assistance of a Master Mind group.
The “Master Mind” may be defined as: “Coordination of Knowledge and effort, in spirit of harmony between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose”. The two characteristics of the Master Mind principle are: one of which is economic in nature, and the other is psychic.
Economic advantages may be created by any person who surrounds himself with the advice, counsel, and personal cooperation of a group who are willing to lend members of the group wholehearted aid, in a spirit of perfect harmony. This form of cooperative alliance has been the basis of nearly every great fortune.
The psychic phase of the Master Mind principle is much more abstract because it has reference to the spiritual forces with, which the human race is not well acquainted.
Now that we’re aware of the ingredients of knowledge, let’s mix the concoction thoroughly with faith, desire, and persistence; apply it through a plan and set the plan into action. Once this energy has been set in motion, you’ll discover that these components are your only dependable means of accumulating wealth.
Remember to always seek knowledge for it shall empower you along with listening to your heart. Or as Charles Haanel puts it in his quote: “You must first have the knowledge of your power; second, the courage to dare; third, the faith to do”.
Great share Eulaine – knowledge does not apply itself! You have shown us a way to get that knowledge working for us. Thanks.
Excellent. Michael
