Use Your Imagination
Have you thought recently about your imagination?
- Are you creative?
- Do you like to talk about ideas?
- Is it easy to come up with big visions?
No matter how you answer those questions, everyday, we have the chance to re-imagine who we are.
I recently took a trip to Disney World with my family and it changed my perspective quite a bit.
Or maybe more aptly, it reminded me what I already knew.
Time Traveler
I was fortunate to go to Disney when I was two years old and again when I was 10.
To have my husband and our 3 kids there, with me now in my mid-40’s, was just incredible. Waiting in line for rides, walking 10+ miles a day, trying to make the best of the Hurricane coming through–all of it was the best gift. How fortunate I felt.
And I realized: maybe Disney is the source of my positive mental attitude which has carried throughout my life! Having early life experiences in the most magical place in the world left an imprint on me, some of which I had forgotten.
What I know through Master Key Experience (MKE) is that one of my personal pivotal needs is Helping Others.
At my core, I’m motivated to use my imagination to think of how I can help others MORE. And as I was remembering at Disney, how to help others experience the magic that is all around us, everyday.
What Are You Imagining?
During our time at Epcot (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow), there was a special thread of magic and imagination, lead by Figment, a purple dragon who reigns in the Imagination! part of the park.
Imagination! is a pavilion located in the World Celebration section of Epcot, a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. The pavilion opened with the park in 1982, and is themed to human imagination, creativity, and the arts. Kodak was the former title sponsor of the pavilion.

Just Imagine… Dragons!
There is a ride in that section of the park, which shows how our five senses capture the imagination—again with Figment!
Prepare for surprises galore as you travel through a series of vivid, whimsical sensory labs. Learn about all 5 senses as Figment turns the lab upside down…Let your imagination run wild on this marvelous, madcap musical adventure!
It wasn’t the fastest or coolest ride, but I must have been on this in 1986 when we visited. I just love that!
It’s such a joy to remember what life is all about in a place that is already stored in my core memories, however buried. I could feel the energy of the neurons firing in my brain!
When we were leaving that night, my youngest daughter got a soft Figment toy and my oldest daughter got a whimsical Imagination skirt and my son got a Zurg toy from Toy Story.
I know they will always remember, and I will too!
If you need a push to do it now, check out MKE, and don’t delay a single moment longer.
What a beautiful share, Jennifer! It sparks so many memories of my time in that magical place, our family’s happy place. We spent holidays there, built memories, and indeed, got our imagination flames lit. Thanks so much for bringing those memories alive in me again for a few moments!
Thank you Day! I appreciate your encouragement so much and I’m thrilled to think we share the magic of Disney (which I never knew, but could have suspected!).
Thank you for this blog post, Jennifer, a great reminder that all we need is already inside us, and that the power of Imagination, just needs a reminder sometimes:)
Thank you for seeing that too Arlene, I appreciate your note very much!
