Who is it?

Week 17HJ – Hero’s Journey — What an incredible week! What a profound revisit to this lesson! This week made me review my journey with the Master Key Experience (MKE) which began in late September 2023.

Right from the start, I felt a deep connection with this group of individuals. They spoke about topics that intrigued me and referenced authors whose works I cherished.

This program invited me to unearth my Definite Major Purpose (DMP) in life, a concept far beyond the typical “What is my life’s purpose,” found in other personal development programs.

The word “Definite” itself resonated deeply with me, suggesting an unwavering commitment, no hesitations, no second-guessing. It was not easy to write my DMP but with the help of my Guides, got it done. Now it is expanding and growing! I am shifting and growing.

Not an Easy Question – Who Is it

The program has not been without its challenges for me. I enjoy much of the readings and the meditative practices, or “sits,” as they call them, sort of like meditating. Not quite the same as the meditations I do in my yoga classes, but they are beginning to feel like cousins.

The program includes various exercises, some of which initially seemed trivial, and I struggled with consistency. Frankly, I did not care for some of them. But I am beginning to appreciate the Why behind the practice of doing them.

Am I 100% engaged? No. I find it challenging, but I’m not quitting! This year has been much easier, like being left behind in school, when you repeat it, it’s easier. Practice makes perfect!

Despite the hurdles and challenges I faced going through this course, I chose to become a Lifetime Member. I needed to know more, I wanted to discover my true identity, my Sat Nam. Not the titles I have, or even my name, or who others think I am, or what others call me.

Who am I? Like Lionel Richie’s song “Hello” which includes the lyrics, “Is it you I’m looking for?” That song took on a new meaning for me just this week! I started to feel like I was singing it to my Subby. Can’t wait to keep repeating these lessons. It’s like going on an archeological dig!

Now, nearly two years later, I am finally grasping the essence of the Hero’s Journey and its relevance to my life. I am closer than ever to mustering the courage to leap off that mountain, trusting that everything will be all right.

Life is an illusion shaped by our choices each day. We can choose happiness or misery, let others dictate our decisions, or boldly speak up to effect change for ourselves and others.

“Life has no meaning. Each of us has meaning and we bring it to life. It is a waste to be asking the question when you are the answer.”

— Joseph Campbell

Wow, that statement just made me stop and breathe deeper!

There are still many cobwebs to clear, akin to chipping away at a thick cement shell encasing us. What lies beneath that cement? Is anyone truly there? Is it you I’m looking for?

If you are searching for who you really are and what your hero’s journey is about, join us for the next Master Key Experience class in September. You can’t purchase a seat, but you might get a scholarship.
